NASA Releases Report on LENR Aircraft Concepts

The news on LENR has been sparse for the past year, but that will likely be changing soon with the impending release of a scientific examination of Andrea Rossi’s E-Cat. Researchers at NASA have continued to take LENR seriously, and have examined the issue of utilizing LENR to power aircraft. They recently issued a report from a working group entitled Low Energy Nuclear Reaction Aircraft—2013 ARMD Seedling Fund Phase I Project. In the report, they note that they assume that LENR works for the purposes of the report, and do not examine that matter explicitly (although noting the Widom-Larsen theory). Perhaps the most interesting part is the examination of methods of converting the heat energy from LENR into something that can be used for propulsion. They also project that it will be 10 years before significant investing in the field occurs. Certainly, that is very difficult to predict and could change rapidly with a definitive demonstration of viable commercial level energy output from LENR (e.g., the 2nd third party report on the E-Cat).
